Dominion Residence
Moscow | 1,660 sq ft (154 m²)
Dominion Residence is a contemporary Moscow apartment designed by Fruktov Interiors as a study in architectural tension. Dark structural surfaces are balanced by warm natural materials, while restrained composition allows sculptural elements to remain expressive without overwhelming the space.
Originally long and linear, the apartment was restructured to establish a clear spatial hierarchy while preserving visual continuity. Deep-toned architectural planes interact with walnut, leather wall panels, large-format porcelain, and natural stone. The controlled palette allows materiality and proportion to define the atmosphere rather than color or ornament.
Lighting is treated as part of the architectural composition. Sculptural fixtures by Tom Dixon and Serip introduce fluid, organic forms, while integrated trimless systems by Deltalight maintain precision. Ceiling elements by Quasar add rhythm without interrupting spatial clarity.
Custom millwork and selected international brands, including Riva 1920, Cattelan Italia, Moooi, Andrew Martin, Moroso, Arteriors, and Vola, create a layered but disciplined environment. Art and collectible objects are integrated as structural components of the interior rather than decorative additions.
Stone, porcelain, leather, and wood function as spatial instruments. Together they create a contemporary residence defined by material integrity, controlled intensity, and precise detailing.
Published in Architectural Digest, Dominion Residence reflects Fruktov Interiors’ approach to architecture-driven interiors, where composition, material discipline, art, and collectible design form a coherent and enduring spatial language.
